why be slimey when distributing software?

Have you seen the Adobe reader update which Tricked me twice into installing Mcafee inadvertently, and thereby creating havoc with my scanning software.

why does an otherwise respectable virus company have to distribute its software in a manner akin to the odious viruses it is 'protecting' you from?
